QJFS encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates biological sciences, environmental sciences, and socio-economic and policy perspectives. Manuscripts that present innovative, evidence-based, and scalable approaches to addressing food insecurity, particularly in developing regions, are strongly encouraged. The journal also prioritizes studies that address current challenges such as climate variability, resource limitations, production efficiency, reduction of food losses, and resilience of food systems.
Review Articles are expected to provide comprehensive, critical, and current syntheses of the literature. Such articles should highlight key developments, identify gaps in knowledge, and suggest directions for future research. They must be based on relevant published studies and should demonstrate analytical depth and scholarly rigor.
The journal is committed to publishing work of high scientific quality, originality, and relevance. Manuscripts that are narrowly focused without broader applicability, lacking in novelty, or not aligned with the central themes of food security and sustainable agriculture may not be considered. QJFS seeks to publish research that contributes meaningfully to knowledge, informs policy, supports practical application, and strengthens efforts toward achieving sustainable and equitable food systems.

Publication Frequency

QJFS is published biannually i.e. March and September.
Special issues may also be published to address emerging themes in food security and agricultural research.
